When I crave oatmeal, I am not a big fan of the prepackaged flavored oatmeal. I want something hearty and fresh tasting with just a tad of decadence. Besides, when oatmeal only takes five minutes on the stove, why not go for the good stuff?
Today I had some leftover strawberries from my Strawberry Muffins earlier in the week so I decided to try a Strawberries and Cream Oatmeal. This was really delicious. Personally, I would eat the oatmeal without adding the strawberries but the strawberries add another boost of freshness and sweetness. So, add your favorite berry or fruit using the base oatmeal recipe and call it your own! It really is filling and just a tiny bit luxurious all at the same time.
